TOMORROW: #19Jan
International Day of Action and Solidarity against Fascism and Racism in Greece – http://www.wsm.ie/c/demonstration-19th-january-international-day-solidarity-against-fascism-and-racism-greece
On 19th January across Ireland and across the world, anti-fascists will be out in solidarity with Greek anti-fascists as part of a “call for international solidarity with participation in Athens demonstration on 19th of January and antifascist action around the world outside Greek embassies” called by a coalition of anti-fascist and anti-racist groups, immigrant groups, trade unions, students’ unions and pupils, intellectuals and artists.
The callout enourages the people to “occupy the city [Athens] with music, chants and speeches, to shout that the Nazis are not welcome, that the coalition government’s racist policies of concentration camps, FRONTEX and of the denial of citizenship to the children of immigrants, enrage us as much as the barbaric measures that send hundreds of thousands to unemployment.
Anti-fascist actions will take place across the world in several major cities including as London, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dublin, Leeds, Bristol, Barcelona, Derry, Cork, Ossona, Manresa, La Garriga, Bilbao, Lyon, Copenhagen, Vienna, Tampere, Warsaw, Moscow, Chicago, New York, Sydney, Montreal and Ljubljana, amongst others.
